Mississauga Roller Season News and Update

It's April 1st and that means we are three weeks away from the roller season starting.

Our operations team is hard at work getting ready for the upcoming season. Based on discussions with officials at the City of Mississauga, we plan to start our youth roller hockey season during the week of April 24th. Additionally, our league in Mississauga will start its season during the week of April 17th. 

Get ready to dust off your wheels because we are planning to have some Free open skatesin Oakville during the weekend of April 14th and some nights during the week of the 17th. Stay tuned for those dates and times. These free skates will be open to everyone, so please tell your friends.

Another news item that we are excited about is our expansion into the Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) area with the new KW Roller Hockey league. This move, following coordination efforts with other communities in Southern Ontario, will finally allow us to realize our dream of having a true rep roller league across Ontario.

We are also happy to announce that we are continuing with our affiliation with State Wars and their provincial teams, as well as Canada Inline and their Team Canada squads. More information on these programs will be passed along within the next week or so.

Registrations have been underway for quite some time, and the response has been extremely positive. If you have already registered, thank you very much.

If you still need to register, we encourage you to do so today. The sooner you register, the easier and smoother the start of the season can be. With that said, spots have been filling up, so act now to secure a spot. Last year there was a mad dash at the last minute, and unfortunately, we had to turn away players in Oakville.

After being shut down for almost three years, last spring we had to scramble to get everything rolling - pun intended. We have a tiny window of time and we still have a lot of work to do behind the scenes. That's why we are asking for your help by registering now, as it allows our staff time to coordinate a smooth transition to the start of the year.

Roller Hockey is an awesome sport in the spring and summer months, plus it's such a great compliment to winter hockey.

Playing roller hockey allows you to have so much fun while still giving you the opportunity to develop your hockey skills.
